50 YEARS OF UNRIVALLED QUALITY & SERVICE

Since 1958, family founded Bearmach Limited has been the market leader for the supply of Land Rover speares.

We would like to take the oppourtunity to reflect on the company's development in this our fiftieth year.

• 1958 Bearmach Limited was founded with only three members of staff but quickly established an export market in Turkey for bearings and machinery spare parts which inspired our company name Bearings and Machinery.

• 1966 Bearmach relocated to a larger 7000sqft premises as well as increasing the number of staff to accommodate the ever increasing customer base with exports to Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Turkey.

• 1977 With the addition of Africa to the export customer base Baermach made the decision to move closer to The Rover Co, Cardiff and relocated again to larger 21,000sqft premises in Caerphilly.

• 1980 Bearmach’s innovative approach to the market saw the development of a comprehensive range of accessories for Land Rover vehicles never previously produced.

• 1981 At Automechanika the first ever Bearmach built 88 Land Rover was displayed complete with full roll over bar, 2.25 petrol turbo engine, vacuum operated overdrive, rear spare wheel carrier, integrated winch and bumper with integrated spot lights.

• 1986 By 1986 Bearmach had grown further firmly establishing outlets in France, Spain and Italy as well as exporting to the USA.

• 1991 With continued growth Bearmach began to develop relationships in the defense market by entering discussions with the UK MOD and securing contracts with foreign MODs.

• 2002 Due to continued growth again larger premises were required and Bearmach relocated to an 80,000sqft facility in Bedwas, Caerphilly.

• 2003 Following 22 years of discussions Bearmach secured the first contract with the UK MOD.

• 2005 This year saw the second MOD contract secured along with the direct account with Land Rover being regained. Bearmach were also awarded the Welsh Exporter of the Year Award in the Business Awards for Wales 2005.

• 2007 Bearmach was bought by Grove Industries.

• 2008 This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of Bearmach Limited and again sees the need for larger premises with an additional 45,000sqft facility being purchased close to their existing premises in Bewas, Caerphilly.
